For those that are suffering with high ping and lag (NA), especially in east coast, there is a "fix" that has been mentioned before. Many people blame riot for the lag but in a lot of cases its not their fault, its your ISP . Monohell. • 11 yr. ago. If on windows, There is a relatively easy way to check ping. "Windows Key" + "R" Type in CMD and click run/ok type into the Command Window "ping www.google.com " and press enter The ping time you get back, is roughly the same to your ping in game.
Try to run in command prompt "ping -t" and check the time in ms. When you click on the wifi icon in the bottom right, it should start spiking to a few hundred ms. You can manually disable background scanning, because you don't really change wi-fi networks when gaming. I'm also on FIOS, and I'm also seeing ping at a steady 150ms in too many games. Been on the ISP for years, has only been a problem recently. I've pinged google.com and na.leagueoflegends.com when I'm spiking hard in the client itself, and they both ping 10ms or better. The problem is idiosyncratic to the League of Legends client.

Happened to me aswell. Yup, ping is up by about 100 from normal. Yep just played a game at 150 ping and around the same for everyone else in it. finally got the double pentakill in aram challenge and it reverted and i have the title now but the points all went away.

As long as your ping is consistent you can play 95% of the champions still. Just stay away from champions like Jayce,Riven etc. where they feel super clunky on higher ping. Also South African, I’m plat 5/gold 1 - don’t need any specific champs, but I played Diana mid and jungle for the whole of S10 and got to plat 5.
